Victory is Sweet...Revenge is SWEETTER!!!

Man, it feels good to beat a team that beat you already this year!! It was even more sweet when that team seemed to have overlooked our Wrecking Crew...They were celebrating in the parking lot before the game...snacking on donuts and hot chocolate...I bet those donuts didn't settle in the stomachs too well!!

Our Players came out ready to play and ready to take it to the Jaquars!!

Morgan returned the opening kickoff to about the twenty to start off the game with a bang...a few plays later, D. Mpungi took the ball on a sweep around the corner and right into the endzone!! Extra points have been worked on during practices after losing the Alta game because of it...Jackson Marchant caught a pass right over the middle to score our extra point!!

West Jordan was able to move the ball on a long pass on a long third down to tie the score. It looked like it was going to be back forth scoring match...

D. Mpungi returned the kickoff about 70 yards, after bobbling the kick, for a touchdown!! And from that point on, we didn't look back from that point on!! Our Defense was AWESOME and didn't allow West Jordan to move the ball much at all!!

Our offense continued to click, even without D. Mpungi who left the game in the 2nd Quarter with a hurt foot. Jacob Mpungi picked up where D. left off. Jackson Marchant was left wide open for ...almost...two touchdowns!!

It was a fun win and although you could see the excitement on the boys faces...you could also see that they are not done, there is still one more game!! You can see it in their eyes...they want more...they want another shot at those Alta Hawks!!

So nice job Bingham Black...enjoy that victory...but don't settle...we still have work to do!! Work hard to make your second shot everything you hoped it would be!!

Win Over Herriman

The Bingham Black Mity Mites were able to avenge their overtime loss on the Herriman Mustangs...and did they ever!! We were able to work on perfecting our passing and running games with Gibson at Quarterback and Marchant and D. Mpungi the recipients of some of those passes. Jacob Mpungi got his running game going against the Mustangs!! And as always our Defense was stellar, not allowing a touchdown!!

It felt good to get our game back in line...right in time for playoffs!!

Way to go Bingham Black...it is TIME!! West Jordan and Alta...here we come!!!

Overtime Heartbreaker...

We lost in a heartbreaker on Saturday against Alta, 7-6 in Overtime!!

This game defintely lived up to all its hype...It was a battle from the beginning. Two very good defenses, fighting two very good offenses. Defenses won on Saturday for both teams. Both teams were able to move the ball, but could never punch it in!!

Tate Peterson had a 40 yard touchdown run called back right after the half, on a penalty...not enough men on the line...didn't affect the play...in fact it was probably hurt us...but Petey broke through the line and scored only to have it called back! That was the only thing that came close all day.

The game ended in a 0-0 TIE!! For those of us that played for Jimmy last year it had an awful feel of that Championship game last year!!

Alta won the toss and we got the ball first. We scored on a pass to Jackson Marchant right over the middle...unfortunately our extra point was unsuccessful, as Peterson was stuffed right before the endzone.

Alta scored on their 4th down, and BARELY made it into the endzone to get the extra point and win the game.

There is NO doubt, every single one of our boys left it all out on the field!! What an effort, what a game!! The beauty of this game...we get to see those Alta Hawks again come Playoff time...and our players CAN'T WAIT!!

Nice Game Bingham Black...next time...it is our turn!!!

Olympus Drubbing...

It didn't matter what we did on Saturday...we still scored!!! Our Bingham Black Mity Mites were working on all cylinders against Olympus beating them 51-6!!!

It didn't matter that we played most of the second half with 8 to 9 Defensive Players on the field...everything we did resulted in touchdowns...even when we didn't mean too!!

It was fun to see everyone play and it was a beautiful fall afternoon at the football field!!

Way to go Bingham Black!! Way to take it to those Titans!!!

University of Utah Camp Clinic

Here's just a few snapshots Tyler snapped while attending the University of Utah Football Clinic!! The boys seemed to have a great time and it was an awesome experience!!!

Hard Pill to Swallow...

Saturday our Bingham Black "Wrecking Crew" had a tough fight on their hands, West Jordan was ready and waiting for us. They came right out and scored on our Defense in their opening possession...

It caught our attention and we came back with fight and determination. We went right down the field and scored with lots of awesome runs by Morgan and D. Mpungi. D. Scored and got our extra point, leaving it tied!! Our Defense seemed to take back the advantage and held them on downs, giving us back the ball. We moved the ball down the field again and scored on a perfect pass in the endzone from Gibby to a wide open Chepkwurui. Our "D" held them off just before half leaving the score 14-7 Bingham.

The third quarter was a battle of Defenses!! Chepkwurui, D. Mpungi and Morgan came up with huge drive killing interceptions. Although our offense was struggling, Gibson was able to complete passes to Peterson for a large gain, Mpungi and lots of Quarterback keepers to gain more yards. Unfortunately, we were never able to score any more touchdowns.

Our "D" worked hard to hold them, but West Jordan scored with just under 7 minutes left to go in the game, and getting the 2 point conversion, pushing it in behind their bohemian giant of a center...taking the lead at 15-14!! Our offense was struggling, missing two of our Big X Men, we had given all we could. Gibson tried to make magic but we came up short!!

Losses are hard...first losses are even harder...but speaking from experience...going undefeated in regular season is good...but...winning a championship would be AWESOME!! So I think will take our loss now...learn from it, improve on it, become better and work harder!!!

And to West Jordan...unfortunately...I think you just woke a sleeping giant...
We will look forward to meeting you again in the Playoffs and next time we will be ready!!!

But for today, get ready for Olympus!! Let's practice hard, take our intensity level up a notch and see what happens...this is where CHAMPIONS are made!!!!

1st Division Game...1st Division Victory!!!

We beat the Beetdiggers 34 - 0!!!

We started out our Division play with a win over Jordan!!

Again, our offense was awesome, moving the ball and scoring at will!!

Again, our Defense was stellar...allowing NO POINTS!!

Our Touchdown bucket, was the proud receipient of lots of cash from all our Touchdowns!!

Our "Wrecking Crew" seem to be making their mark on our Division!!

Nice Job Bingham!!! Keep it UP!!!

Taylorsville Drubbing!!!

Taylorsville seemed to be no contest for our Bingham Boys!!! We were able to score at will!!! Our offense seemed to be able to move the ball wherever and whenever they wanted. Scores from D. Mpungi, Morgan, Chepkwurui, D... We beat the Taylorsville Warriors 39 - 0!!!

Our Defense again held another team SCORELESS and looked awesome not allowing much yardage!! Taylorsville offense ran squatted and hiding behind their line until they popped out on either side, can't say that their trickery worked, usually our awesome "D" sniffed them out and most times they didn't get beyond the line of scrimmage. Our "D" had awesome coverage in the secondary on those occasions when they would put the ball in the air...not much luck there either!!!

It was a great win, and it was fun to see some different players run and touch the ball!! Wilkins, Mena, and Campbell all got chances to run the ball!! Butterfield caught a pass and then ran with the ball for 10 or so yards and was tackled about 10 yards shy of the endzone!!! Nice work guys!!!

Bingham OVER Alta Gray...25-13

Our first real contest of the year...

Our Offense started off with a bang...first offensive play of the game...handoff to Peterson who turned it into a 40 yard run to score on our fist offensive play!! D. Mpungi ran back a 78 Yard Kick Return for Touchdown!!! J. Mpungi also scored too!!

Our Defense was scored on for the first time all year!! They also scored on special teams, returning a Kickoff for a score!! That was just enough to get the boys attention and they came back out fired up and went down the field and scored...putting Alta's hopes of victory in the GUTTER!! But it was a good well fought game!!

It was awesome to see our players face some adversity, but then turn that adversity into a plus and build off of it!! They came out fired up and wanting to win!!

Way to go Boys!!!

DeFeNSiVe DoMiNAtiOn...

Our DEFENSE was, well...PERFECT!!
3 games = NO TOUCHDOWNS scored on our "D"!!
In fact it was OUR DEFENSE that put TOUCHDOWNS on the board against the Jordan Beetdiggers on Saturday.
Our Bingham Black Mity Mites beat Jordan 27 - 0, with 3 Defensive touchdowns.

First, an intercepted pass by Ammon Driggs ran in from about the 20 for a TOUCHDOWN!!! Second, Tate Peterson being the recepient of popped up fumble caused by D. Mpungi and then taking it in about 30 yards for a TOUCHDOWN!!! Last, D. Mpungi snagging a pitchout and running that in for a TOUCHDOWN!!!

D. Mpungi also had an awesome run in the 1st half...bumping, gliding and weaving his way about 40 yards to score a touchdown.
Peterson, Bocchini and Jacob Mpungi had chances to play running back and were successful in gaining lots of yards for our offense. As usual Gibson and Chepkwurui played perfect at QB's and our line had some awesome blocking for our running backs!!!

Our Defense stiffled the Beetdiggers offense not allowing them to even get out of the backfield on many occasions. D. Mpungi played havoc in the backfield and with their offensive line. Our defenses motto ONE HIT...ONE TACKLE!!! Peterson, Gibson, Moser, Chepkwurui and our whole defense made sure that they gained no yards once out of the backfield and made sure they had ONE HIT, ONE TACKLE!!!

What an awesome game and so much fun to watch!!! Nice job Bingham Black!!!

1st Regular Season Game...1st Regular Season WIN!!!

In our 1st Regular season game we faced a ginormous Woods Cross Blue team!! Their boys were big, but their boys were NOT better!!! I am pretty certain that they thought they would walk all over us...they obviously haven't seen OUR Wrecking Crew!!!

We came right out on attack and kicked an onsides kick that Morgan sprinted down the field to recover!!!

With Gibson and Chepkwurui leading our offense at Quarterback, we scored with D. Mpungi running it in from about 10 yards, with a TouchDOWN Sized block from Jackson Marchant in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Chepkwurui found a wide OPEN Marchant standing all alone at the ten and he ran it in for our second score of the day!! Our offense stuttered a little bit, but our DEFENSE held on strong and held the Woods Cross Blue team SCORELESS!!!

Tate Peterson led our "D" with some pad popping tackles to stop two of their drives!!! OUr DEFENSE is AWESOME!!! Second week in a row that they have held their opponent SCORELESS!!! Nice job BINGHAM BLACK...next up...the Beetdiggers of Jordan!!

Preseason Debut...

Our Bingham Black "Wrecking Crew" was AWESOME on Saturday, beating the Herriman Mustangs 19-0!!!

Our stellar Defensive held the Mustangs SCORELESS!!

Every player stepped-up and made it near impossible for them to even move the ball!! They had to resort to an "O" line that linked arms and pushed there way to small gains in yards, until they hit our "D" and were stopped...any other play call was stuffed at or behind the line of scrimmage!!! Our "D" was relentless!!!

Our Offense led by Quarterbacks Chepkwurui and Gibson were, well, FAST!!! With our Quarterbacks, the Mpungi Brothers and Morgan we ran all over their Defense!! We were able to move the ball at will. Our Offensive line led by James Beck and our blocking Fullbacks pushed and blocked open some great holes and they were AWESOME!! Morgan, D. Mpungi and Jacob Mpungi all scored touchdowns on long powerful runs!!! Way to go OFFENSE!!

Way to go BiNGHam BlaCK!!! Way to show those Herriman Mustangs who is boss...Especially in our HOUSE and our Field!!!

Preseason Game Update...

Our Preseason Opener has been scheduled...

We will be playing at:
11:00 am, Saturday, August 28th.

There will be a $2.00/per person entry fee to get into the game...so come prepared!!!
The Players, Coaches with badges and Cheerleaders will get in for free!!

We should be handing out Jersey's and Socks at Friday nights practice!!!

Just a reminder, Pam Beck is hosting a Team Party with Player and Parents on Saturday at 2:00 pm after our game. She will be providing Pizza. Please bring something to share or some soda. Also bring your swimsuit and towel!!!

Wednesday, August 18th, 6:30 - District Weigh-In
(Will be during practice, so the Coaches will be sure to get all players at practice over to the weigh-in.)

All players MUST be present at the District Weigh-Ins or they will be suspended for the pre-season game and the first regular season game on Sept. 4th. If you have a problem, please contact Allison Peterson or Coach Jimmy.

Saturday, August 21st, 11:00 - Jersey Fitting
This will be at the end of practice on Saturday. Jersey's will be fitted at the Equipment Sheds. Parents are not allowed in the jersey fitting area.

Team moms will be keeping both jersey's to get names embroidered on them before our games start.

Saturday, August 28th - Preseason Game,
Time, opponent and place to be determined
We will let you know as soon as we hear.

Saturday, August 28th - BBQ and Pool Party at Beck's,

WRECKING CREW!!!!

This is going to be a great year!!! We are excited to be a team and can't wait to get to know all of you!!! And we can't wait to see what this team becomes!!!

With alot of hard work and determination, we will be able to have lots of success!!!

This blog is a fun way to post pictures of each game. During each game I will be taking pictures of EVERYTHING!!! I will be trying to snap pictures of every play!!! I would love help, if someone else has also found a love of picture taking!! I then spend way too many hours editing the pictures to get that perfect picture!!! And then I will post them in a video slide show for each game!! It is fun and so exciting for the boys to themselves in ACTION!!!

I am excited for this year and the chance to get to know all of you!!!
